How to care for Scindapsus N Joy

Scindapsus aureum a.k.a Pothos N joy

N Joy is a pothos with variegated leaves, just like the name you will start n-joying the plant as it grows. The tender leaves are fresh and are appealing, this plant unlike other pothos  is not a fast grower, the color combination of  so magnificent that you cannot move your eyes away from the plant. The beauty of plant is much appreciated in a ceramic or a contemporary planter

N Joy is a perfect house plant that can grow with out sun light, best place to grow this plant is a window sill, balcony, patio, or any ventilated area that has no direct sun light.

Soil:

N Joy does good in almost any kind of potting mix that is meant for house plants. If you are planing to make your own potting mix then I would suggest the following mix. A equal proportionate mix of peat with compost and river soil or the construction soil is the best mix for this plant. the only point that you should note is that the potting mix should have good drainage.

Light:

They love bright indirect light and no harm if exposed to morning sun but make sure that the plant is not exposed to harsh sun light as this may burn the leaves. I suggest any place that is bright is good for this plant.

Watering:

This plant does not like over watering and even does not like moist soil, so water the plant once the top layer is completely dry. Over watering may cause root rot which is a serious problem to deal with. So avoid excess watering.

Fertilizing:

Fertilizing the plant with a liquid fertilizer once in 15-20 days will keep the plant fresh and healthy occasionally treating the plant with Epsom salt is also welcome

Pest:

This plant is susceptible to all the pests that attack house plants like White flies, Mealy bugs, Aphids etc. So while watering check out for the creepy stuff and if present attend them immediately.
